Hi I'm Mickelle Sanders

I grew up in Houston, Texas. I am a student at Brigham Young University studying Psychology and Women's Studies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've spent most of my life in a suburb just outside Houston, Texas. I grew up in the dance world. Ever since I can remember I spent every weekend at a dance competition up until I started college. At BYU I hope to obtain a degree so that I can pursue my dream of liberating women around the world who are victims of human trafficking. I am a big animal lover, particularly of cats and sharks. I am now serving a mission in Irvine, California.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but I ultimately was converted when I realized that I was much happier with the gospel in my life and that this was for a reason. The first 14 years of my life I was just going through the motions and did not have a strong testimony. After attending seminary my freshman year of high school, I gained a testimony and experienced the happiness that the gospel brings. I knew that something that brought me so much happiness had to be true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through trying to improve myself everyday. My goal is always to be more Christ-like than I was the day before. This includes being kind to others, not judging others, and sharing the gospel every chance I get. I realize that I often fall short and some days don't improve at all or as much as I would like, but this just reminds me of the beauty of the gospel. The gospel is there to help you, and as long as you are trying to be better your efforts will be noticed.
