Hi I'm Juan Fer

I am from Guatemala. I like reading, playing sports, spending time with family and friends, and watching movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from high school and will soon serve a mission in Mexico Reynosa. I spend time reading novels, self-help books, biographies, and the scriptures. Sports are important and I love playing basketball, ping pong, volleyball, and other sports. It is also very fun to be with friends and just talk. When I go to university, I will study an industrial engineering. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church since I was born. I have learned throughout the years that lasting happiness is found when you live according to the principles found in the scriptures. I think that everyone, at one point of their lives or another, is looking for peace, happiness, and a sense of being. That is what this gospel has given me. I know that, no matter where I live or what is happening in my life, I can turn to my Heavenly Father for guidance, and He will answer. And it is through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that I can learn what He expects from me. I know that the church is true. I know that this life is a time to progress and overcome our faults. It is hard, but it is possible through the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to pray and read the scriptures every day. When you set a goal to do those things on a regular basis, you feel an overwhelming feeling of peace accompany you everywhere you go. I'm grateful for that. Right now I have a calling serving adults. I really like that because I can talk with them about things like being good examples in our families and work environments. We discuss the importance of having the priesthood with us, which is God's power given to us to act in his name. A big part of how I live my faith is going out with the missionaries. Missionary work is beautiful. It gives you the opportunity to engage in meaningful service to those around you and there are few things that give you such a rewarding feeling as serving. That is something that I'm really grateful for. If you ever see missionaries walking around in the streets, I invite you to go and talk to them. You won't regret it.
