Hi I'm Cherlynn Thomas

I have lived in Utah, New York, Boston, Japan, and California. My husband and I have four children. We met in New York City!

About Me

I grew up in Utah on the Wasatch Front, and since then I have lived in New York, Boston, Japan, and California. My husband and I have four children. We met and married while Ned was working for the Japanese government, and I was working on Wall Street. We married in our 30s, and now our oldest child has entered high school, second child is in middle school, and our two youngest are in elementary school. I waited a long time to be a mother, and I love nurturing my four children, studying Egyptology, conducting abundance workshops, and traveling to New Zealand, Fiji, Australia, Japan, France, Egypt, and New York.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From a very young age, I felt the influence of the Holy Ghost, and I was touched in my heart, my testimony, my dreams, and my entire soul to know that Heavenly Father knows me, loves me, and has a purpose for me in His kingdom on earth. He knows my name, and He knows me better than I know myself. My relationship with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father grew significantly when I was in high school. Many of my friends made different choices, and I was left feeling as if I had no friends. I prayed earnestly about this, and I resolved that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ would be my friends. They have never abandoned me, and I have relied upon them for many years since. Recently I have been studying about the life of Joseph Smith, the prophet of the Restoration. I have been listening to audio CDs by Truman G. Madsen. My third great grandmother, Susan Noble, carried messages to Joseph Smith in the hem of her skirts, and recently as I have studied and learned more about the work of Joseph Smith, my testimony of his work as the prophet of the Restoration has grown tremendously. I revere him as a spiritually gifted prophet of God. I am grateful for the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. We partake of the Sacrament weekly, and I have been blessed to feel profound direction from the Savior during those quiet moments of reflection, repentance, and renewal.

How I live my faith

Spiritual grounding is my life. I listen to meditations, I pray twice daily, I read scriptures, I study scholarly writings, and I find peace in taking long walks with my husband or with friends. I connect with Heavenly Father, and I ask Him to guide me in my choices. I feel his presence and influence daily. I work REALLY hard, and I am breathtakingly efficient. I am an Abundance Coach, and I help entrepreneurs achieve their goals. I know God wants us to progress, and coaching is my life calling because I love bringing God's children to a higher level of living spiritually and temporally. It's all the same anyway. With our four children, we read and play as much as we can. We love to hike, and I drag my husband camping at least once during the summer months. Our vacations are spent visiting family, and we enjoy the adventure of our long drives by stopping at new places along the way. I recommend you check out the Tehachapi Loop if you're ever in Central California.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Cherlynn Thomas
Ned and I work together for the benefit of our children. We waited a long time to be married and to have children, so we want to do our very best for them. We make a lot of mistakes, but we always refocus and repent. We probably work more for their benefit than our own. We read with them, help them with homework, teach them piano, take them to violin lessons, and help them in Scouting, Activity Days, and Young Women. We hold regular interviews with our children with the hope that they will always remember that we are their advocates. We bless their lives every day, and they bless ours far more. Show more Show less
