Hi I'm Sarah Briggs

I'm a nurse assistant, I love the outdoors, and I made the best decision of my life December 6th,2014. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Currently, I am working full time at Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette Michigan. I love my job with my whole heart because the residents I have taken care of have changed my life for the better. I am also preparing to serve a full time mission in Berlin Germany, and I couldn't be any more excited! I am honored that I get to give back to the church that has done so much for me, and has brought me some of my greatest joys in life.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, my mom tried her hardest to instill strong Christian values in me and my other siblings. However, when it was time for me to go away to college, I gave into some pressures from around me, and things from my past that I hadn't dealt with came back to haunt me. I had never felt more lost and alone. Thankfully, my friend invited me to church volleyball, and there, I met missionaries for the first time. They invited me to church, and I went frankly because I was curious. The first time I attended was a fast and testimony meeting. I remember all the speakers were so passionate about what they were speaking about, and many of them were moving. They all had something I had been searching for my entire life:a strong testimony of the Jesus Christ. I was so welcomed and was made to feel at home by people who at the time, where complete strangers. I knew from that first time that this is where I belonged. My baptismal date came a couple months later, and you couldn't wipe the enormous smile off my face the whole day. I felt such pure joy and happiness on that day, its something that I will never forget. I have a strong testimony that no matter what happens throughout your life, Jesus and Heavenly Father will never leave your side, and they know you perfectly. That through faith in Jesus Christ, and the enabling power of the atonement, forgivness for yourself and others is possible. That by forgiving others no matter how minor or major the atrocity, the hateful and resentful feelings can be turned into feelings of compassion and that you WILL be able to feel happy and at peace again. That even if you were the only person on this earth, Jesus still would have died for your sins; because in his eyes every soul has the same worth, and everyone is a child of God. I love this church with every fiber of my being, and I know without a doubt that serving a mission in Berlin Germany is what I am supposed to be doing.

How I live my faith

I try to practice what I preach. My favorite part about the church is how committed everybody is to serving each other. If someone needs help moving, a group will go help them. If someone is short on money for groceries or gas, groups of us will help them out as best as we can. If someone is going through a rough time, everybody rallies together to support them. When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God (mosiah 2:17) I also LOVE to teach the 4-5 year olds for sunday school! It's always a new adventure with them.
