Hi I'm Jake Daybell

I enjoy playing rugby. I love making new friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from high school in Utah, but I have been able to work around most of North America. I love visiting new places and still have much to see. I have been to college in Southern Utah and currently waiting to report to Peru and preach the gospel! I love to play all sports. Rugby, football, basketball, soccer, anything with competition. I cannot sit still for very long unless I am reading a book! Growing up in the beautiful state of Utah, I have learned that the outdoors is the best place to be. I will go snowboarding or hiking at any chance I get. And I try to always remember to keep smiling :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into the LDS church with parents that faced me in the right direction. Many times I took this for granted growing up. It wasn't until trials came that I started developing my own testimony. At 12 years old, I was the oldest of divorced parents and had seen choice loved ones die. I needed to know God and figure out why people must have hardships. Through a humble desire and experiment upon the word of God which is the Book of Mormon, I had a sure spiritual witness that this is the true and living church of Christ. When I have doubts or questions, I follow the same pattern and I always receive that witness. I am a Mormon because this gospel is the truth. The saints of the church (especially myself) are not perfect but the Head of the church is, who is Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and my Redeemer. His ultimate sacrifice, the Atonement, is a reality. It REALLY happened. And He truly lives! This church brings hope, knowledge, and peace. I know I would be in a dark place right now if I had chose not to be a Mormon. I have a testimony that if I continue on this path of progression, then I will return to my Father in Heaven someday. For this testimony of the Plan of Happiness, I am forever grateful.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I have the opportunity to teach kids of the age of nine in my ward about the Book of Mormon. They teach me more than I teach them, but it is always a good time! I also work in the Payson, Utah temple. Not for a pay of money, but it is a service that pays in blessings! It is a privilege to participate in such a sacred work. I will soon be going to Peru, Cusco to be a full-time missionary and I will be preaching in the Spanish language.
