Hi I'm Sandra M. Jacobson

M. Quinn Jacobson is my husband we have 6 Children all of us married in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. There's 30 grandchildren.

About Me

I was once asked the question," How do you Make Easter Special?" I was so happy to tell this friend that Easter is my favorite Holiday. Why? 1- God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son(John 3:16). 2- Jesus loves us and wanted us to be happy so he gave this commandment: "Love one another" (John 13:34-35) 3-To treat those who would other wise be forgotten on this the most wonderful Holiday of all because we remember " He Lives" (see hymn 136) 4- Treating the elderly to a Message and some thing bright each Easter has been with out a doubt the most rewarding thing we do each year. My grandchildren come home for General Conference and between the Saturday morning and afternoon sessions we would deliver the 30+ baskets. When Easter was in March or later in April I would get Cub scouts, Achievement Day Girls, or Neighbors to help fill and deliver baskets.

Why I am a Mormon

Some stories to demonstrate why I am a Mormon, Our Lord and Savior teaches us to serve one another. I like this hymn 223: Have I done any good in the world today? Have I helped anyone in need? Have I cheered up the sad and made some one feel glad if not I have failed in deed. Easter Baskets: The fun comes in your creativity. a dear elderly lady (not a Mormon) caught me one day and expressed her joy to receive her Basket and that she had set up a shelf special just to put the keepsakes she had received each year in her basket so she would be reminded of the feelings she had that spring. One Easter as the Grandkids were delivering Baskets an Elderly lady asked the grandkids for hugs. She wanted to know their names and Thanked them over and over for stopping at her house. A widower watched for his knock on the door and called the kids back if they scurried away to quickly to hand them the basket that he received the year before so it could be filled again. With a Big Thanks! One year my daughter brought her roommates from college to help with filling and deliveries. I will never forget her friend expressing her joy as we dyed Easter eggs, she had never done it before. Then when they took baskets out they stopped to visit several of the elderly and our dear friend a retired Elementary School Teacher took such interest in the girls that they mentioned it a lot after they got home it was more of a lift to them than a service. The first ones that heard about the Clothing Exchange thought it would not work in this community. But they were surprised when we set up 17 banquet tables with various sizes and it was so well attended that I never heard any more negative feed back. (Only 4 tables of clothes were left over). I've had so many wonderful experiences as a Mormon and I attribute a lot to the Holy Ghost for the ideas that fill my head of things to do.(See 1 Cor. chap. 12)

How I live my faith

I was a Pre-school teacher for the school district. I have come to love little children and the songs they sing. Working in these jobs has brought me such joy I know why the Lord loved the children. (See 3 Nephi 17) Until my health would not permit me too. I held a Community activity in Aug. every one would donate clothing (Luke 3:11) nice but not needed and we had a large back to school " Clothing Exchange". (Matt. 25:36) Businesses would donate $'s to the Exchange so we could buy Back Packs, supplies, socks and Refreshments. As Moms and teenagers gathered to get a bag and fill it with clothing, shoes, household goods etc. The elementary age children played games for school supplies, had some refreshments, and helped their moms with sizing so they could get things they needed. I need to express that with both of these activities I would invite the Lord to help me. Each time an idea would come to mind in a way that I would recognize it as a good thing to do I would do it and I know the Holy Ghost was helping me to organize, advertise, setup, know to whom I could get to help, with each aspect of the activities. Each year that the activity was held more people became involved and attended.
