Hi I'm Taylor Straub

I'm a nursing student. I'm an outdoor enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been attending college for the past two years in hopes of attending nursing school and eventually get my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP). I love the human body. I love learning, and testing myself. Right now I work part time in retail and go to school full time at a community college near my home. I just received my mission call to the Mexico Queretaro Mission. I am so excited!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon on a daily basis because I know that this is the true church. I witness God's hand in my life on a daily basis when I am choosing the right and seeking for his guidance. The gospel brings a special kind of happiness and peace into my life. I struggle with a lot of anxiety and depression and because I am a Mormon, I am able to understand the atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that he suffered for my pains and weaknesses, both physical and emotional. Being a Mormon has allowed me to understand that Heavenly Father knows I can only do my best, and that my best is ALWAYS far from perfect. That is why he sent his Son to suffer and bleed from every pore. Heavenly Father sent his Son to suffer because he loves you and he loves me, and he desires- with every ounce of his being, to have us back to live with him again. This gospel gives me hope in the salvation of my soul, and the salvation of the souls of those whom I love. It gives me the opportunity to live with my family for time and all eternity. I am a Mormon because this gospel of Jesus Christ fills in all of the gaps in my life and finishes everything that I fall short in. I would be no where without this gospel.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite ways that I live my faith is teaching a Gospel Doctrine class every other week in my Young Single Adult ward. Teaching helps me really dive into the gospel and sets apart specific times within the week that I can study Gospel topics and ask questions, ponder, and learn. Sunday school is my favorite time of the week, being able to sit in a class room with my peers and just talk about the true gospel is just incredible.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Taylor Straub
As we attend church services we try to look the best we can. Women wear modest dresses and skirts, while men wear ties and dress pants for the men. Children also dress up for church on Sunday. Mormons celebrate Easter and Christmas as their two main religious holidays and they also celebrate normal holidays in their culture such as Valentines Day, Halloween, Birthdays, etc,.
