Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I can feel an overwhelming power when I learn of the principles of this gospel. I was born and raised in this gospel. I have had times of doubts and I have had times where I knew without a doubt that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am thankful for those moment of questioning and doubts because those are the reasons why I am a Mormon. I had to learn to "doubt my doubts before I doubt my faith". The times I have been confused are the moments that have brought me to my knees so that I could sincerely pray and know the answer. The answers did not always come right away, but I did always feel peace. With time I began to feel and know of the truthfullness of this gospel. The times I have asked questions are the times that I have developed and unshakeable testimony for myself. I know that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and that the Book of Mormon is devine revelation. I am so thankful for the Holy Ghost and for prayer for always guiding me and strengthening my testimony.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by continuously going to my Heavenly Father for help and guidance. Going to my Heavenly Father helps me know my purpose. To me this is the greatest aspect of my faith. I have always had questions and I have always had this deep desire to know the truth. When I was seven years old I had this great desire to know that my Heavenly Father listens to my prayers. I wanted to hear him answer my prayers. I started to cry because I did not know how to hear my Father. My Mom knelt with me beside my bed and together we prayed. After we prayed she told me to listen. As I listened I felt an out pouring of love and peace. In that moment I knew that my Father in Heaven here's and answers my prayers. That experience created a foundation for my faith to grow. Even now I know that I can turn to my Heavenly Father and he will guide me. Through prayer I can learn more about my devine potential. I live my faith by putting trust in my Heavenly Father.
