Hi I'm Juan

I grew up in California. I love service projects and being able to help. I am going to school to become a doctor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As the oldest of 7 children, my day is very busy from the start from taking kids to school, cleaning, cooking, to helping with homework. I plan on going to school to finish my degree so that I may move on to become a doctor. From a young age I've always wanted to help people, to make them smile when they thought they couldn't or to be there for them when they thought they were alone. Stranger or not, if I see someone in need I do my best to help them. This translated over into why I want to become a doctor; to help those who can't help themselves and to make someone else's life better. I love to teach latin dance and though I'm still not a pro, I love to learn and have fun with it. Reading is one of my favorite things to do, no matter where I am. Being able to lose myself in a story, become part of it, is truly a wonderful experience unlike no other.

Why I am a Mormon

There have been many instances in my life where I have felt alone, worthless, and so insignificant I wondered why I was even here. These feelings affected me, causing me to be bitter, angry, and pessimistic. But when I take a moment to remember my Savior, remember the sacrifice He paid for me, all that anger a bitterness washes away. He loves me, He knows me by name, and He believes in me even when I don't believe in myself. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have learned about His plan for us. A plan where families can be together forever, that death is not the end. I have learned that Christ and His Atonement can cleanse us of our sins so that we may live with Him again. I know that He has called a prophet to guide us in these troubling days, to teach and show us the way back to Him. I know that we are all children of God and that He loves us.

How I live my faith

I have organized lunches and events with food after church for the whole congregation, resulting in a nice atmosphere where the members can eat and socialize with each other, meeting new people and getting to know others better. As a ward missionary, I go out with the full-time missionaries and help them in teaching lessons and talking to people. We plan lessons together and take turns introducing ourselves to new people and share our beliefs with them. I have substituted as a teacher for youth when needed, and teach the children of Christ and His example for us and how we can follow Him in all that we do.
