Hi I'm Tanner

I'm enthusiastic and hard-working. I was born and raised in Utah. I love to write and perform music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18 years old and am the old child in a family of 6. I attended a semester of college in Utah, and I'm serving a full-time mission in the Argentina Buenos Aires South mission starting January 2016. I love everything about music! I participated in choir, band, drum line, musical theater, and swing club throughout junior high and high school. Some of my good friends and I created a band and played at a lot of events throughout my senior year of high school. Along with performing music, I love to compose and arrange music. I plan on studying music composition in college. Some other things I like to do are bowling, skiing, badminton, ping pong, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is something I will always be grateful for. I chose to be a Mormon and live the gospel because it helps me to be a better person. I was born into a Mormon family and all my life I have associated with many members of the LDS church. The knowledge that I have gained from them about the restored gospel and about the truthfulness of all of its doctrine has motivated me to continually look for ways I can improve and become more like Christ. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. God's Plan of Salvation with the Atonement being at the center of it has given me hope and peace. Because the amazing gift of the Atonement was given freely for me and for all of God's children, I know that it is possible for us to live in Heavenly Father's presence and experience eternal happiness. And I have felt the Spirit confirm this to me. I know that God loves me and has given me everything I have on this earth. And I want to show my love for Him by following all of His commandments and by doing the things He wants me to do.

How I live my faith

I try to do everything I can so that I can help others to be happy. Throughout my life I have received lots of support from my family, friends, teachers, and church leaders, and I do my best to show that same love to those around me by fulfilling my responsibilities and callings to the best of my ability. In the past I have given service in the Young Men's program by helping to coordinate activities, teaching lessons in church, and looking for opportunities to help other young men. I recently served as an organist in my ward at college, which helped to improve my musical abilities. I loved sharing my talents with that ward, and I hope to continue to serve through music throughout my life. I started home teaching at the age of 14, and it has helped me learn how to communicate more effectively with others and has given me many opportunities to meet new people and learn more about them. The one thing I have always wanted to do to show my love for Heavenly Father is serving a mission. I know that making certain sacrifices for 2 years of my life to help others receive the joy that comes from living the gospel will strengthen my testimony in the gospel and will make Heavenly Father happy as I help others to be happy through complete service.
