Hi I'm Erica

I'm the oldest of 6 kids, I'm a student at WVU, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended West Virginia University for 3 semesters, making me a sophomore. I am majoring in elementary education-- I love kids! I'm not currently enrolled however because I am about to serve a mission! I am so excited. In high school I enjoyed theater, show choir, and jazz band. I played alto and tenor saxophone and LOVED it. Kids, dogs, and music are my passion.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, so keeping the commandments and standards of the church was a no-brainer to me. That all changed when I began college at WVU. West Virginia University is notorious for being a party school, and it doesn't take long for it to suck you in, whether you think you're letting it or not. I quit coming to church, or if I did I was on my phone the whole time. The world was very distracting. It was after my freshman year ended that two elders came to our ward and made it their mission to become my friend and get me coming back to church. To this day, I consider them some of my best friends. They are the reason I have decided to serve a mission. I love this gospel with all my heart and don't know what I would do without it! It makes me and my family immensely happy and I want to be able to share that happiness with everyone I can. Just remember, if you've fallen off the boat, there is ALWAYS a hand ready to help you back on. You are never too far gone.

How I live my faith

I've chosen to live my faith by choosing to serve a mission. I'll be serving in the Las Vegas West mission and I couldn't be more excited. I also live my faith by being involved in my ward and my calling. In the student ward that I attend, my calling is the ward music chairman. I am in charge of picking which songs we sing on Sundays, as well as coordinating any special music function our ward might be putting on or involved in. Just recently I put together our ward's Christmas program! It was so fun to pick which songs to sing and to be able to showcase some members in our ward's talents. The songs we sing in our meetings really helps the Spirit be there so having the opportunity to pick them is awesome.
