Hi I'm Meghan

I am from Burley, Idaho. I am an enthusiast of all things concert-going, travel, and movie popcorn, and yes...I am a Mormon!

About Me

Oh man, I'm pretty neat. I am currently a college student on account of I have come of age and am now an adult. So that's good news. I am the younger of two siblings. I have an older brother who is on a mission in Hungary. He's really a lot neater than me, but you clicked on my page and not his. So anyhow, I'm majoring in European Studies so I can learn languages and travel to my heart's desire, provided I find a rich sponsor. I pride myself in my ability to open difficult lids of varying contents, making fabulous ice cream shakes, my nerdy dance moves, and my proficiency in Hall & Oats lyrics. My mom has had a brain-injury since I was two months old and is possibly the funniest person this world has ever known. She has short-term memory loss and has to stay in an assisted living facility. My dad has recently remarried and I now have three new stepbrothers as well as a new stepmom of the non-evil variety. That's the thing about Mormon families, I guess. They just keep growing.

Why I am a Mormon

Mmm. Well, I grew up in the church. I've always been around church goings-on. But it took a lot of courage, more than I thought it would, to sit down and ask myself if I genuinely could dedicate my life to believing the teachings of the gospel. And the answer is yes. My Savior lives. He loves me. And He gave everything for me. Because I know this, I made covenants to be completely obedient to Him. I will follow Him so that I can live with my Father in Heaven again with my family-as a whole. Through my Savior Jesus Christ, all things are possible.

How I live my faith

I have been assigned to be a full-time missionary for eighteen months in Sweden to help spread the gospel around the world. Through this experience, I am going to help others come to know of the truth of our purpose as children of God on this earth today. I want everyone to understand that our Heavenly Father loves ALL of His children, despite our many imperfections, and wants us all to be happy. But I think, more important and exciting than moving across the world, I make an effort to remember and follow Christ's example in everything I do. He was the perfect representation of kindness and compassion, and the more I study His life and ministry, the more uplifted and edified my life becomes. But it's humbling to know Christ, too. I learn so much about myself whilst getting to know Christ, and a lot of the time, it's disappointing to find out who you really are. But it's the kind of disappointing that is also motivating. I want to be like my older brother and Savior, Jesus Christ. It's a long, hard road, but it sure is a good one.
