Hi I'm Mellissa

I'm studying elementary education. I love music. I'm a sister, a daughter, and a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending Utah Valley University. I love to play my bass and the piano, but I don't play with any programs at the school. I love kids. I have always had a special connection with children and a desire to inspire their minds. Although we have our differences, I love my family. I consider them my gift from God. I love the knowledge that they are mine for eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a simple person. I don't like to look too deep into things. The knowledge of Gods love for me and for ALL of his children is something that has always been evident to me. I sustain His leaders in every way possible and follow the guidance of His prophets. I know He guides the church and that He restored this gospel through a young boy named Joseph Smith. The world is full of dark dark things, but the light of Christ shines through it all. Things can get confusing and life can be hard, but I know that Christ is there for every single person. I know the my savior died for me and I know He died for you. He atoned for us all. We will face trials and we will face sin, but He made it possible for us to press forward and keep smiling. I know that true JOY comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ. He loves us. It's as simple as that. I know that no matter what I face in this life, if I hold on to that simple truth of Christs love for me, I can make it through anything. And I know that you can too.

How I live my faith

I am currently in a young single adults ward. My calling is to help the members of the ward become more involved in family history work and temple attendance. I enjoy attending my meetings and meeting new people. I live in an apartment complex and I love getting out to meet new people and share the light of Christ with them. I try my best to make new friends and always let people know of my love for them as well as the Saviors love for them.

Who are the Mormons?

Mormons are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We believe in the Bible and in teachings of modern-day Apostles and Prophets. The nickname 'Mormons' came from our belief in the Book of Mormon, which is scripture that was recorded by prophets in the Americas during the same time period as the Bible. Show more Show less
