Hi I'm Elder Robinson

I love physics, mathematics, and baseball. I am serving in the Logan Utah Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in New York, but raised in Utah. While growing up I enjoyed long hikes in Unita-Wasatch-Cache National Forest and skiing at nearby ski resorts. At school I enjoy math, physics, and history. When I am done with my mission, I intend to achieve a doctorate in quantum physics. My hobbies are board games, reading novels and non-fiction, and baseball card collecting.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) for over six generations. As such, I don't have a sudden eureka moment of knowing the church is true. However, both with the exemplary heritage of my ancestors, along with the visible hand of god in my life, have led to a gradual acceptance of the gospel. Through my faith, new doors have been opened, such as new ways for me to succeed in school, but also doors I thought had been long closed to me were opened for me. For a while I did not think I could serve a proselytizing mission, and yet an opportunity, for which I am eternally grateful, has been placed before me. I believe that when we emphasize love over the hate that too many people offer in today's world, and have faith in god, miracles truly are possible.

How I live my faith

I believe that the best way to serve the Lord Jesus Christ is by helping others. I have served in many callings, including group leadership and teaching, and have striven to fulfill my callings in ways that will be the greatest help to my fellow group members. Whether in organized service projects, or just helping an elderly neighbor move a few heavy items from his basement, I believe a strong commitment to personal service is the best way to bring people to a knowledge of the love their Heavenly Father has for them. I also believe in regular temple attendance to help those who have passed on.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Elder Robinson
What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ. In simple words, Christ took upon him the sins of the world. This great and unimaginable sacrifice has many affects on the lives of God's children here on earth. First, because Christ took upon himself the original transgression of Adam, men are relived from the main consequence of that decision. All men, whether righteous or wicked, will be resurrected, and receive an immortal body. However, If we let Him, Christ's Atonement can have an even more powerful and personal effect in our lives. When we have faith in Jesus Christ, repent (have sincere remorse and a desire to change) of our sins, seal this decision in heaven as well as on Earth through the sacred power of the Priesthood, through the Ordinances of Baptism and Confirmation, and in all things strive to follow the example of the Savior, the Atonement of Christ, His suffering and pain, allow for a remission (elimination of spiritual consequences) of our sins. Only through this can we return to live with our Heavenly Father again. Show more Show less
