Hi I'm Erica

I grew up in Arizona. I have a passion for education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a daughter, wife, mother, and educator. I work with elementary special need children. I also mother a special needs child. The majority of needs I help manage are not physical. I help educate social, emotional and intellectual needs. My children have been given challenges in these areas. I personally have difficulties with anger, anxiety and depression. I'm also a big sci-fi/fantasy geek.I luv reading, watching and writing about magic, dragons, wizards etc. I play video games and tabletop games. One of my favorite family nights is sitting around the table, laughing and playing games.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because I have never felt anything like it. Even in my darkest times, I always felt hope and faith. I don't know if I can put into words what that means. all I know is that I have never felt alone because of the teachings of the plan of happiness; I know where I came from, why I'm here and where I'm going. This knowledge has given me the greatest comfort and helps makes life challenges a little bit easier. It's also a great comfort to have knowledge of a Savior who gives unconditional love. No matter how bad things are, Jesus love me. I can always make the choice to get better and be forgiven. In my world where anger, anxiety and depression are a constant test, knowledge of a loving Savior gives me hope that I can make it.

How I live my faith

Currently my husband and I are sunbeam teachers. Every week we have the honor to teach basic gospel principles to six 3yr olds. It is such a blast to serve in primary with the youngest members. They have such high energy and a love for Jesus. As a family we try to have a family home evening each week. We spend time talking about the gospel, doing service and having fun together. We try to participate in all of our school, community and church activities. Sometimes it can be hard with the level of anxiety we experience. We take each day as a new day, striving to be our best. If we falter, we still know God loves us.
