Hi I'm Dempsey Emery

I grew up one out of five siblings, and buried two of them. I am still happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a writer. I write just about anything, from poems to short stories to novels. I have grown up with my two strict but loving parents, my two younger sisters, and briefly with my two brothers. My eldest brother and my youngest brother both passed away from a genetic disorder when they each were very young. They are my greatest writing inspiration, and I have learned a lot from the experiences their lives and deaths taught me. I am also an optimist, and I have always found joy even in the darkest moments. I believe I would not be as happy and optimistic as I am, if it weren't for the happy and optimistic church I firmly believe in.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this Church, but I chose whether to be baptized into it at the age of eight. I chose to be apart of this church because it is a church of hope.

How I live my faith

I served in the Church by helping in our Special Needs Mutual, where I helped a buddy with different crafts and activities each Thursday night, along with teaching simple and sweet lessons about the gospel. I think, however, I learned more from them then they did from me. They are so sweet, and they love unconditionally, just like God. I have a special place in my heart for those with disabilities. I now am serving a full-time mission, serving my Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ by teaching and preaching the Gospel in a different country. I have given up all my worldly things at home, to help those who need someone to be their friend, comforter, and to teach them what it is that makes me so happy, that they might be happy too.
