Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Mormon, and I live in Bountiful Utah. I'm getting ready to serve in the Minnesota Minneapolis mission.

About Me

I am 19 years old and I have moved out of 25 houses. And as a result, I have met some wonderful people, and they have all found a way into my heart despite the short time that we spent together. I have varied interests, some of them include: singing, dancing, acting (basically anything theatrically related), cooking, baking, reading and writing. I am also a full fledged geek, and I am a proud member of several Fandoms, which includes Doctor Who, Sherlock, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and several others. Some of my plans for the future include studying Shakespeare, and continuing to develop my performing skills.

Why I am a Mormon

To me it just makes sense. When I am properly living the teachings of the gospel, I just feel better. Life is hard, and it does not work out without a strong relationship with my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. And this priceless connection cannot fully be utilized without this gospel, and organization through the Church. I recently went through the Temple for the first time to receive my endowments, and I had no idea how much there is to learn. Now normally, that would scare me because learning new things has always been a challenge for me, but the prospect of learning more of the mysteries of God and His plan for us was just another proof that He exists and loves us beyond anything we can comprehend, because its through the Temple, and the constant patience and mercy of the Lord that we can be endowed with power and protection, so that we can live life in such a way that we will be able to return to his presence again. But it has to be a lifelong pursuit. It has to be a top priority at all times. I'm a slow learner. It takes awhile for me to get the hang of things, but I know that my Father in Heaven is patient with me, and has provided and will continue to provide everything to ensure my success. But I have to recognize and use the gifts that He deems fit to bestow, and His church is one of the many resources that I find to be imperative to my success during my mortal probation.

How I live my faith

I love this gospel! I've had the wonderful blessing to have been born and raised in the church, and because of this, I have had many learning opportunities all throughout my life. A large influence in my spiritual growth has been my time spent in the Young Women's program. It was during that time, that I completed the YW recognition award, but most importantly I was able to gain and solidify my own testimony. Currently I hold a calling teaching the 11-12 year old sunday school class, and I will be serving a full time mission in Minneapolis Minnesota.
