Hi I'm Amanda

I've lived in California all my life and will be serving in the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission in a few months. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutley love sitting down with a good book and spending time with my family and friends. I come from a family of my six, my mom, dad, and three other sisters. I am currently a student at BYU-Idaho, but will be taking some time off to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church my entire life. I try to live every day as if Heavenly Father were walking right next to me and watching everything I do. I try to ask myself in every situation, "What would Jesus do in this situation?" or "How would He react to this?" It has really helped me a lot and I have become a better daughter of God and have grown closer to my Heavenly Father as well. I know with all my heart that this gospel is true and that this church is the true church. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. I cannot wait to go serve my mission and teach and introduce everyone to the truthfulness of it.

How I live my faith

I help out a lot in all areas of the church. I sometimes help teach the youth Sunday school classes and also help out in the nursery and I love doing both!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. The young men of the church are commanded to go and serve full time missions, but the young women are encouraged to go if they feel and pray that they need to go and serve. My own personal opinion is that everyone who is able to serve a mission should go and serve. Going on a mission not only helps mold you into a better son or daughter of God, but you help so many others as well, including your future spouse and children. Being able to share and preach the gospel to all the world is a privilege and those who are able to go do that, should. Show more Show less
