Hi I'm Martina

I'm in the Army National Guard, I'm an ambitious college student, and I'm a future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a single parent household and found the church when I was young. I realized there was something missing in my life and I knew The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was everything that I needed. A few years after my baptism I moved from my childhood home, and later decided to become a combat medic for the Army National Guard. After completing my training I was prompted to go to a church based college to further my education. And after finishing up a few semesters at college, I received my mission call to the Canada Montreal Mission. I report to the MTC on February 3rd 2016, where I will prepare to teach the people of Montreal in the French language. Words cannot describe how excited I am to help bring people closer to Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Looking back on my life, I've asked myself this question many times. I've asked myself why I stayed faithful in my youth, especially when it would have been so much easier not to. I've asked myself who I might be if I didn't have the gospel in my life and I've asked why was I so lucky to have heard this wonderful message. And through prayer I've come to know my answers. I stayed faithful in my youth because the church became more than just an activity to do on Sunday. The church became everything to me. It became my lifeboat. The gospel of Jesus Christ has answered every question I've had. I now know where I came from, where I'm going, and why I'm here on earth today. The Holy Ghost became my comforter, Jesus became my Savior in a personal way, and I realized God is more than just an all-knowing, all-seeing omnipotent being, He is my loving and merciful Heavenly Father. And though I don't know who I would have been without this gospel, I now know who I can be. I'm aware of my infinite potential. I know that Jesus Christ can make so much more out of my life than I ever could alone. I know that there is a divine plan, even a plan of the most complete happiness. And I'm fully aware that I can achieve my greatest potential by following in the footsteps of Christ, and by learning line upon line, precept upon precept, how to better be a disciple of Him. I know that I'm extremely blessed to have the knowledge that I do. But I also know that this knowledge is possible for everyone to have. Christ's gospel is a message for everyone to hear. It is not restricted to anyone. Salvation is possible for us all, because Christ has already paid the price. We need only use His continuous Atonement in our lives to become all that He needs us to be. I love this Church. I love the blessings of the Restoration. I love the Lord.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my attending my church meetings and magnifying my callings. I also live my faith by keeping the commandments and reading my scriptures daily. By doing is it has allowed for my faith to grow more than I ever thought possible. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. And I know that it was brought forth in this day by a prophet called of God, even Joseph Smith. My gratitude to Heavenly Father increases each day as I come to know more about how much He loves us. He loves us enough to give us the scriptures, and to give us a living breathing prophet today that leads and guides us as His mouthpiece here on earth.
