Hi I'm Larry

I'm from San Diego, California. I have a degree in economics from San Diego State University. I like fitness, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a degree in economics and a minor in marketing. I worked as a valet at a hotel for my first job. I started my career in a sales and marketing company for the grocery industry. I am into health and fitness, and I love participating in Church functions and activities. I enjoy exploring and traveling, and seeing new places, even if it's just driving down a street that I've never been to. I love playing with kids as long as I don't have to do anything more than play. I like making stuff up on the piano, and I like to draw. I enjoy concerts, shows, movies, and good food.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Church. I love our Father in heaven, I love Jesus Christ, and I love the Holy Ghost. I know that God is our Father in heaven and He lives and I know Jesus Christ lives because the Holy Ghost bears witness of all truth. We can have hope, love, and charity because they live. Through the exercise of faith through our own choices and actions, we can receive a confirming witness of the truth. I joined the Church because I could not deny the truth and love that I felt. I feel this truth and love every time I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible. The Book of Mormon is the keystone to understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was the beginning of the restoration of the Church, and it provides so much insight to the teachings in the Bible, and the life of Jesus Christ. I received my first Book of Mormon from a family who I did not know. They were visiting from out of town. I felt love and comfort the first time I read it. I wanted to look for more guidance so I turned to the words of Church leaders. Their words revealed eternal truths about life, and it brought upon me the comfort and peace of the Holy Ghost. Shortly after, I met a man who I started a conversation with. He happened to be a member of the Church, and he invited me to meet with missionaries. All these events, starting from reading the Book of Mormon to meeting the missionaries, happened in a time span of two weeks. I was baptized a month later, and it the best choice of my life. There is no looking back because of all the joy and hope that the future holds. God loves us so much. He is truly our Father in heaven. He sent his son, Jesus Christ, here to earth because he loves us so much. If we but just follow His commandments, we can receive everlasting joy. I leave this message with you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I volunteer in community service projects. I mostly like doing simple tasks like moving equipment and cleaning. In my ward, I am an activities leader. We plan activities like hikes, movie nights, instrument learning, and dinners. I enjoy my home teaching assignment because it give me an opportunity to think about how a lesson applies to the lives of people I love, and it helps me learn more about the gospel. When teaching a lesson, I receive inspiration from God that helps me learn too.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The purpose of Church welfare is to promote self-reliance and to care for and serve the poor and needy. For assistance, recipients are encouraged to work (when able) so that they are blessed and can bless the lives of others. Work is a guiding principle in the Church's welfare program. As members of the Church, we can feel a sense of peace knowing that we are helping others. It is a blessing for us to help others because we have been given so much, and God will bless us even more.
