Hi I'm Rhea Walters

I grew up in Seattle, WA and Draper, UT. I am a dancer, singer, runner, and future missionary in the Philippines. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have danced for 14 years studying all styles but especially ballet. I love to sing and have performed with Caleb Chapman music studios as a lead vocalist. My favorite thing opportunity to perform is singing in church. I love to run and am currently training for my first half mararthon. I love studying how to be healthier and live happier so I am a firm believer of exercise and it's links to mental health! I am fascinated with studies like this and how the brain works which is why I am a psychology major at Brigham Young University. I am one of 6 children and have two incredible parents who have recently celebrated their 29th anniversary. I am currently waiting to report to the Philippines, Baguio mission and will serve there for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by incredibly strong parents but even then, I do not continue to actively attend my church and live it's principles because my family does. I have had many experiences where I feel the comforting spirit of my Savior with me in church and in all areas of my life that praise him. I also know the strong feelings of happiness, joy, and peace that come from studying my scriptures, so much so that I could never deny my testimony. I know the prophets who lead our church are guided by divine inspiration. I know the scriptures are true and if we follow what they teach, we will be led down a path of righteousness and happiness. I know that Christ came to this earth and lived a perfect life, so he could be the last sacrifice for all mankind. He atoned for our sins and suffered all the pains of the world in the garden of Gethsemane. On the third day after his crucifixion, I know that he was raised from the dead, just as we can be because of his sacrifice for us. I continue to live this gospel because it teaches me that I am a divine daughter of God and therefore have immense potential that only He can show me. I endure trials and exprience blessings along the road of life which can be hard beyond imagine to carry on sometimes, but what keeps me going is the light and the hope that I have that at the end of this journey, I will stand before my God and he will say that I done well in His eyes, and that I can return to live with him. I cannot imagine going through the dark days of life without that knowledge. This is why I decided to serve a mission so I can help as many people experience the joy that I get from this gospel and my relatonship with my savior.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to be in the presidency of each stage of Young Women's which is where girls from 12-18 get togetether to be taught and teach each other about gospel principles and how to live them as daughters of God. As a visiting teacher, I try my best to keep the women I serve in mind, and befriend them, once a month preparing a short message to share with them that will bring the spirit into their home. I mostly live my faith by example. The gospel encompasses every aspect of my life and every decision I make. I strive to always live worthy of the Lord's quidance so I can always be aware of where he needs me and who I need to serve to help reahc his light out everywhere I go. I follow his commandments to bear witness of my testimony of Him and His church.
