Hi I'm Hannah

Im a lot of things, but mostly I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 19 and I go to college at Utah State University. I have changed my major so many times I'm not even going to bother putting one here. But that's alright because I am going to take a leave of absence and serve as a missionary for the church! I have been called to the Illinois Chicago West Mission and I leave in February of 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this faith but came to my own understanding of this gospel around the age 14 when I began to have questions and doubts about religion in general. I was studying and reading a lot of different religious books as well as the Mormon ones, but it wasn't until I read Joseph Smiths account of the first vision and The spirit hit me so hard I could not doubt that it was a confirmation from God. I am a Mormon because I know that what happened to Joseph Smith is true, and that most churches have some truth, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the full truth. This church is the same one that was on the earth when Jesus Christ is here. I know that God answers prayers, if we have faith that He will and patience in his timing we can recognize those answers. Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to be close to him. I know that as we follow the perfect example of Jesus Christ and draw near to God in all things he has promised that he will do the same. And if we will hard core humble ourselves Heavenly Father can help us become not only the person we want to be, but someone even better

How I live my faith

I really like a scripture in the Book of Mormon its 2 Nephi 25:26 I've found that when life gets difficult and unbearable at times it is best to turn your thoughts towards the Savior. This won't solve all your problems or make your trials go away, it might not even make you feel happier, but I know that as I try to focus more on Christ I can at the very least feel his comfort even if my problems don't go away. My relationship with God is personal and my very own. Everyone's relationship with Christ and Heavenly Father is different and special. I try my best not to let outside things influence mine. Our faith, and in reality our lives, should revolve around Christ

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

We do what a lot of members call "Baptisms for the Dead" and we do this for people who died before having the chance to hear about our church or be baptized. We do this to give them a chance to choose whether they accept or decline the baptism in the next life, where they will learn about the truth of Heavenly Father's gospel. Show more Show less
