Hi I'm Sinéa

I am Canadian and American. I love active living and literature. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young adult currently serving my mission. I am preparing to teach the gospel in Portugal. This is the greatest experience I could ever have and I am very excited to serve the Lord in Portugal! I am also overjoyed that I will be part of this prophecy: "that every man shall hear the fulness of the gospel in his own tongue, and in his own language" (Doctrine and Covenants 90:11). I love animals, and being out in nature whether the sun is out or it is raining. I am also enthusiastic about running, crafts, gardening, exploring, learning, singing, playing the piano and clarinet, biking, dancing, languages, reading, drawing, memorizing poetry, painting and writing, just for starters. Of course I am not by any means an expert on these- yet- so thank goodness for eternity. In short, I love being on this world that God had created for us. It can be so beautiful!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, listening to hymns on Sunday and reading the Book of Mormon with my family before school in the morning. By doing these things, I have felt the Spirit throughout my life, which has helped me always believe in a loving Heavenly Father, and a compassionate Saviour and brother, Jesus Christ. Whenever I start to wonder how I know for sure, I pray and read the scriptures and my answer comes every time. I would say that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it is the true church of Jesus Christ. I know it is true because of how I feel when I am active in it- I feel peaceful. The peace that following the Saviour brings is not just feeling calm; it is also a source of happiness and motivation. I believe that this earth life is not the beginning or the end. I believe that we are all here because we chose to follow Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's plan. It is a time of learning and proving to ourselves and to God what and who it is we truly value.

How I live my faith

I am part of the Compassionate Service Committee in my ward, and I help coordinate finding babysitters for parents in the stake(a few congregations) that are attending the temple. When I first received this calling, I could go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead. However, now that I have my own endowments(covenants with Heavenly Father) and attend the temple regularly, my calling is even more special to me as I know for myself how significant attending the temple is. The Book of Mormon is definitely my favorite book, and I try to always have a copy of it with me to read wherever I go. But there are so many people that I meet who appreciate having a copy too that I find I often need to replace it! I wish everyone knew about the gospel so that they could at least have the choice to follow Jesus. That is why I am going to serve a mission.
