About Me

My name is Derek Terry. I like to write music and draw. I love watching cartoons.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to become a Mormon because I was once so lost that I lost all hope about life. My conversion story is funny to me because it proves that God has perfect timing. I woke up and just decided I wouldn't abide by the rules of the Bible and just enjoy life you know. . with the YOLO philosophy until two sisters came up to me and like everyone else wanted to share the gospel. I was walking my friend to class. I was just lost inside my thoughts at the moment about how when I considered leaving religion behind they crept up behind me with it in its fullness. Any who Sister Holmes and Sister Hanna offered to walk with us to class while teaching us. Throughout the journey I asked were you led by the spirit to come and talk to me. I just needed confirmation about what was happening to me. She responded yes and my little spirits shot up a little more feeling like God actually cared about me. So we departed without exchanging contact info at all. I recall sitting outside of my friend's classroom just talking about life with her then her teacher called her inside the classroom. After saying goodbye to her I started walking home then I ran into Sister Holmes and Sister Hanna again but I had a question in mind. I asked her about Joseph Smith and then they asked could we sit down and discuss it more and I said yeah. I always had questions swarming around my head and to test if they knew I threw as many as I could at them and they answered each one gracefully so from that day on I've been on the route to become a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading and praying. These two things lead to me applying what I've learned to everyday life.
