Hi I'm Alex

I grew up in Idaho finished High School early and went to three semesters of college before serving a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been playing the violin for about 9 years now. I mostly play traditional American and Irish fiddle tunes on it, but I also like playing Gavottes and Minuets. Before I started college I was interested in learning a second language and how languages work in general, but I never got around to learning much of anything. Then, when I first started college I decided to take a Spanish course because I so many people where I live speak Spanish as either a first or second language. I've now taken three semesters worth of Spanish and am now excited to be learning Swedish for my mission to Sweden. I'm working on a degree in Computer Science.

Why I am a Mormon

I started out being LDS because my parents were. As I got older I decided that I needed to really get my own testimony of the Book of Mormon, Church leadership, and the restoration of the Gospel. After studying church history, the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and conference talks and praying for answers and a testimony, I finally got one. I know that the LDS church is true and that its leaders are inspired by God. This really helps to ground me and helps me find answers to difficult questions.

How I live my faith

I attend a small branch for young single adults and this means that I get a lot of opportunities to participate in meetings. I have been able to play hymns on my violin during church twice and give three spiritual messages. I have also participated in a lot of service projects for people around the community. We did things like clean up yards, prune trees, cut wood, and once I even helped reroof a house.
