Hi I'm Susan

I grew up in Washington. I raised my nine children in Colorado and New York and now delight in my 31 grand kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a full time stay at home Mom while my kids were growing up, volunteering at the schools they attended and doing volunteer work in the community. I love to tat and read and also enjoy cooking and sewing. I like to work out with my husband at the gym, especially our aqua zumba class. We also like to walk and talk together. I also enjoy working with him on home improvement projects. We've built a deck, refinished a basement, laid tile floors and have painted inside and out several times over. We make a good team.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I have been studying and teaching about His life and teachings for many years. I want to live and follow Him. It brings me peace and happiness as I do so. I have had to bury two of my children. The only thing that has made that bearable is my hope in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and my knowledge that I will again have my children through eternity. I know that families can be together forever and that the same love and companionship that we share here on earth we can have for eternity because of our Savior Jesus Christ. I cannot comprehend the atonement that He made for us, but I know that He loves us. I know Heavenly Father loves us and sends the comfort and loving assurances that we need to get through the hard times. I have felt it so often in my life. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth today in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My greatest joy and happiness comes in being with my family and sharing my love with them. I am so grateful for the ordinances of the Church that have made it possible for us to be a family forever.

How I live my faith

I have always been active in my church. When I was 16 years old I was given the assignment of teaching the 4 year old's in Primary, the children's organization in the church. I have been teaching/working in the different organizations ever since. For the last 4 years I have been teaching the 8-9 year old's in the Primary. For 9 years straight I was a Cub Scout den mother while my boys were going through scouting. I worked in the scouting organization several times since then. I have also been a teacher or a leader in the youth organization and the women's organization of the church. I especially enjoyed working with the teen aged girls on their summer camp outs. I taught camping skills and appreciation of nature. I have participated in many humanitarian projects with the other women in our church. I have also worked for Reach the Children, a charity that works with the children in Africa, providing educational materials, clothing and other necessary items. My husband and I are preparing to spend the next 2 years in Sierra Leone, West Africa, teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people there.
