Hi I'm Steven Hinrichs

Sound is my life, but by Christ I live.

About Me

Even among a culture that outsiders would consider strange, I've always been a bit of an oddball. My interests have never quite aligned with society's, but when I find something that is interesting I delve deep into it. My world is one that is focused in sound; I may not always be able to understand what people say if they mumble, but I will always notice what their voice sounds like, or the harmonic content of the various noise-making machines that are common in life. I have spent many hours on my computer making and listening to electronic music. Throughout all this I was raised in Utah, often deemed to be the epicenter of the LDS culture. I go to church every Sunday. I spend time with my family and try to follow the teachings of the church. I had what I thought was a deep doctrinal knowledge of God and His workings on this earth - that is, until I went out on my mission. Now I understand that what I knew was merely a miniscule segment of God's eternal desires. I now understand more fully His love and His plan for us, and I testify that it is glorious.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon, but I have been given experiences from God that have taught me that the things that were taught to me are true and I'm excited to share them! I have a firm conviction that Jesus is my Savior, that He is the Son of our Heavenly Father, and that He is perfect. We are "joint-heirs with Christ if it so be that we suffer with Him," according to Romans 8:17, and I know that our Heavenly Father's glorious plan for us can be made apparent as we do the things He lovingly asks us to do. I am able to live my life purposefully because I am beginning to truly understand the perfect and glorious plan God has for me.

How I live my faith

I spend Sundays in church and devoted to God, and I spend my weekdays supplementing everyday activity with spiritual activity including spending time with my family, studying the scriptures God has provided for us, praying daily to make my relationship with Him closer, and attending weekly youth—and now young adult—activities. As a missionary of my church, I currently am spending all of my time for two years dedicated to Christ and doing His work.
