Hi I'm Andy Porter

I'm a pianist. I'm a dog lover. I'm a painter. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in Lewisville, Texas. At the age of 8 my family and I moved to North Ogden, Utah, and have been there ever since. I have three older brothers, a sister-in-law, and a niece! I adore just about anything artsy -including painting, making flower arrangements, and fixing up old clothes. As a kid, I desperately wanted a pet dog, so I spent years studying breeds, psychology and training techniques. I have played the piano for 10 years, and especially love playing classical music. I have lived a full life thus far, and am grateful to my Heavenly Father for that!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, and as I've grown I have gradually come to know the truth of it for myself. I love this gospel. It is simple. It is clear. It is consistent. It provides me with security, peace and hope. Christ suffered in the Garden and died on the cross, for me. He is here for me through good and bad, fear and faith, darkness and light. Because of Him, I always have someone to turn to. I always have a friend. For that, I am forever grateful!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary for the LDS Church. I am serving in the California Santa Rosa mission for 18 months, and am so excited to share the joy this gospel brings to me! As a missionary, I get to share with others what I have learned for myself: that Jesus Christ is our Savior, that His complete gospel was restored through Joseph Smith, and that I can live a full and purposeful life if I follow Christ's teachings. My family won't be separated by death, we can be together eternally. I live my faith by following Christ's example, and helping others to do the same.
