Hi I'm Rylee

I am from St. George George Utah. I'm a Mormon. Called to serve in the Trinidad Port of Spain mission.

About Me

My name is Rylee (also known as RyRyTayTay!) I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and grew up in Portland, Oregon until I moved to St. George Utah where I graduated high school. I went to a semester of college up at Utah State University. I am passionate about good food, my family, friends, and of course my faith! I love to go hiking, participate in zumba, sing, and laugh!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because there was a time in my life when I didn't have as strong of a testimony. In that time I felt unhappy, lost, forgotten, and hopeless. As I went through trials in my life I realized that all I have of importance in my life is this true gospel and my family. I have a testimony that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us. They love us so much that God sent his Son down on this earth to be mocked, cursed, killed, and to suffer every imaginable sin committed by every human that ever lived. I know that no matter what we have done, sins we have committed, pains we have caused, or sorrow we have inflicted, we can ALWAYS turn back to our Savior. If we repent, repair, and turn to our Savior with a broken heart and a contrite spirit he will always receive us with welcoming arms and love. He wants us to return to him and we must do all we can on earth to become better versions of ourselves each day. I am mormon because I feel happy when I do the things mormons do: sincere scripture study and prayer, obeying the Word of Wisdom and Law of Chastity, and being an example of believers in everything I do. May we all follow the example of Jesus Christ and be perfected through him.

How I live my faith

In my early years of high school I didn't really have much of a testimony. I didn't have the same desires that I have now, didn't treat people kindly, and didn't practice my faith as well as I should have. It wasn't until I realized that I wasn't happy with the choices that I was making and who I was becoming when I realized that I needed a stronger testimony in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I came to realize God's unconditional love for me as I started reading my scriptures and having sincere prayer in humility and coming unto Christ with a broken heart and contrite spirit. When I went up to college, and lived on my own it was then when the this gospel became my anchor. I saw many people around me choosing the wrong and doing things they knew they shouldn't be doing. By seeing God's children unhappy, lost, and feeling hopeless really pushed me to ALWAYS choose the right and endure to the end. It made me want to share the gospel with everyone, and that is what led me for my strong desire to serve a mission. I am called to the Trinidad Port of Spain mission. I couldn't be more excited to share this happiness and love that I have because of this everlasting gospel that has literally saved me from going down a wrong path and saved my life.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Rylee
The Atonement was crucial for us as imperfect human beings to return to God. I know that without Christ's suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, mocked, denied, and killed on the cross we could not return to our loving Heavenly parents. I know that whenever we feel pain, sorrow, guilt, or grief, our Savior is the only one who knows exactly how we feel, because he too has gone through every pain we can imagine. I know that we can always turn to him if we want to receive comfort and love. Show more Show less
