Hi I'm Ameesha

I live in a small town in Wyoming. I love music, being with my family, and am serving an LDS mission in Sweden.

About Me

I am a singer and a writer. I love playing the guitar in my free time. I have just finished two years in college. I'm aiming to teach English in South Korea. I am currently serving a full-time mission in Stockholm, Sweden.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life. My family and I have been through many trials that if we didn't have the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives, we wouldn't know the joy that we feel daily. When I was 11 I lost a nephew, and when I was 12 I lost a niece. Because I was young I relied on the comfort of my family. It wasn't until I was 16 when I lost my oldest sister that I truly began to understand in a spiritual way. My heart was engulfed in grief and I felt numb for several days. After feeling numb, I realized I wasn't really doing anything to get better. I was just going along. I didn't want to be weak. I started to pray more, and for the first time I decided to read the Book of Mormon. Through both prayer and scripture study I started to feel again; I felt the warmth and love of my Heavenly Father. My church attendance was with purpose and I ended up gaining personal character strength. Because of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have improved more than I ever thought I could. I will forever be grateful for this gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

My family are all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Some struggle, but they still know the church is true and are currently on the road to coming back. I have never really questioned my beliefs because everything about the church just seemed to make sense to me. I still prayed to confirm, but only because I felt it was necessary. I have just finished my calling as a Gospel Principles teacher, where I had the opportunity to teach those investigating the church. I have had two callings before, but being a Gospel Principles teacher has given me the most blessings. I love this gospel and I love being a Mormon. I grow every day as a result of being a member, and hope to help others enjoy this gospel as well!
