Hi I'm Katie Martin

I'm a busy high school student, I enjoy exploring the beautiful outdoors, I love spending time with my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I am a very busy freshman in high school. I enjoy participating in sports such as soccer and basketball, as well as being in school clubs. I also have the opportunity to be our freshman class treasurer which is a great experience that keeps me actively involved at my school. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, which consists of 5 kids (including myself) and my parents. I am the second oldest in my family and I have a twin sister! I love doing anything outdoors from hiking, kayaking, biking, or skate skiing. Being active outside with my family makes me a feel so grateful for this incredible world Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ created for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. As I grew up being taught this gospel, I never once doubted the truthfulness of it. As a result of being a member of this church, the gospel has become a way of life for me and continues to make me a better person. I love this gospel and the knowledge I have that we have a loving Heavenly Father who loves and cares for each one of us and wants us to return to him. In my own life this knowledge has given me direction and purpose, made me happier and more confident, and has provided comfort and peace.

How I live my faith

Every morning at 5:10, I wake up with two of my sisters to go to early morning Seminary at 6:20. Seminary is a scripture study class for the youth of the church. Each year of high school, we study a different book of scripture. This year we are studying the Old Testament. It is such a great way to start of my day through reading the words of Christ, and learning more about the gospel and our Heavenly Father's plan for us. Aside from Seminary, I have the opportunity to help members of our church do family history work. This is important because I can help people discover their ancestors so they can give them a chance to learn of the gospel if they weren't able to while they were on earth.
