Hi I'm Ethan

I am from Seattle Washington. I will be serving a mission for two years in Washington DC. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the state of Washington. I have 4 siblings. In High School I worked as a Lifeguard, Swim and Piano Instructor. I enjoy all sports, I have played basketball my whole life, and I also love playing Tennis, Volleyball, Football, and Ping Pong. I am pretty competitive and love trying to be the best in what I do. I began college last summer, and continued there for school into Fall Semester. I am currently taking a break from school to serve a mission for the Church in Northern Virginia where I have the opprotunity to share the amazing message of Jesus Christ with many people from around the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up being a Mormon since I was born. My parents raised me in the teachings and stories of the Gospel. I relied on my parents testimony growing up. At some point during high school I decided I needed to gain a testimony in the faith for myself. I decided to follow the teachings of church leaders and scripture, and go and read the Book of Mormon and pray to know for myself if it is true. I didnt receive any firm revelation or profound visitation, but I noticed the spirit confirming to me its truthfulness. I started to then recognize the joy that the gospel would bring my family, and decided there was no way that this could not be true. The gospel means everything to me, and I always want to live my life where I can feel the spirit guiding me. I love the teaching that our families can live together forever. I love my family so much and am so grateful for that promise. I want to share my knowledge and testimony, and that is why I have chosen to go and serve a mission.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every week. I also live my faith by praying and reading scriptures everyday to strengthen and develop my testimony. I didnt always have this firm steadfast faith that I now have. It came from living the gospel line upon line, precept upon precept. It first began with HOPE, hope that the things my parents were teaching me were true, hope that God really does know and love me. But as I exercised this hope, my faith grew brighter and stronger until I began to see a unwavering testimony of the truthfullness of the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. "It requires a little faith. But do not despair. If you cannot muster faith right now, begin with hope If you cannot say you know God is there, you can hope that He is. You can desire to believe. That is enough to start. Then, acting on that hope, reach out to Heavenly Father. God will extend His love toward you, and His work and rescue and transformation will begin. Over time, you will recognize His hand in your life. You will feel His love. And the desire to walk in His light and follow his way will grow with every step of faith you take." -Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf

What is being a Mormon like?

Ethan
Honestly, its AWESOME! I have experienced soooo much joy from living the teachings of the Mormon faith. I know all this joy and love I have experienced is because of the understanding and faith I have been able to gain in God's plan for me. A lot of people critize our faith, or maybe just dont understand what being a Mormon is all about. The only way to find out for yourself is to try it out! You will meet amazing, happy people who love Jesus Christ, and love their families. You will begin to feel the love that God, our Father has for you. So give it a try, what's the worst that could happen!? Show more Show less
