Hi I'm Michaella Whitney

I've lived in Utah my whole life. I have been called to the New Hampshire Manchester Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student who has no idea of what to study. I enjoy Criminal Justice, the CSI work of things, but i'm afraid it might get in the way of my future life as a mother. I enjoy the outdoors especially when winter comes. I've run four Ragnar races so I guess I like running. I love traveling. I've been to Peru twice on a humanitarian trip and I will never forget it. Utah also has some great places to go to. I love learning new things. School is probably my favorite past time because it increases my knowledge of things that were, are and things that will be. I also love institute. I love learning more about the Gospel. The place that I learn the most about the Gospel is in the Temple. What a blessing it is to have 17 temples in Utah!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have had many witnesses that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the only true Church upon the earth. I know that the only reason why we have the Church today is because Joseph Smith was fore ordained to restore it here upon the earth. I know that the only way we can live with our Father in Heaven to be like His son, Jesus Christ. I know that by doing so, we will be blessed both temporally, and eternally. I know that we have living prophets. Thomas S. Monson, who has all the keys of Jesus Christ and with those keys, receives modern day revelation to lead and guide His Church. I know that the Lord calls ordinary people to teach His message. I know that we have a responsibility as members of this Church. That responsibility is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I love this Church. I love that I know all the things mentioned. I'm so thankful that I was raised by "goodly parents" like Nephi. There's nothing in the world that can compare to this Gospel. It's true. It's real. It has power. My name is Michaella Whitney. I going to New Hampshire to be a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Let me first start saying the I LOVE THE CHURCH! It's my life. I've had many callings but my favorite is my calling to be a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The place the Lord has called me to is the New Hampshire Manchester Mission. I so excited! I do my best to be a disciple of Christ in everything I do, but I am only human. I look for opportunities to serve my fellow man in any condition. When I moved out of my house for college, I had the experience of visiting teaching. At first I was a little skeptical but I grew to love it! I also was the Ward Institute Representative. That calling was amazing! No matter what calling I've had or will have, I know it's for my development in both my spiritual life and my personal life.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Michaella Whitney
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has many temples around the world. They are evidence that the Church is true. Having temples on the earth means that the members want to learn more about the Gospel. We can only learn so much in church and institute, but the temple offers more learning experiences. Members and non-members can go to the temple when the temple has an open house. There, they can see the inside of the temple. No ordinances happen during an open house though. Those ordinances only happen when the temple is dedicated. Then and only then are members allowed to go into the temple. The members have to obtain a temple recommend stating that they are worthy to enter in the Lord's house. The ordinances that happen in the temple are not secret. They can be found within the Holy Scriptures. However, they are very sacred and they are not to be disused outside of the temple. Inside the temple, Church members participate in ordinances that unite families together forever and help them return to God. In the temple, members: learn eternal truths, receive sacred ordinances, provide ordinances such a baptism for those who have dies without the opportunity to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ.
