Hi I'm Holly

I grew up in Asia. I work for a consulting firm. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a working mom with a very full life! I have worked in aerospace and defense, and now work as a consultant. I enjoy writing, music and swimming when I get the chance. I love spending time with my family, traveling, and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the church because the truths taught resonate with me deeply. It is incredibly powerful and comforting to know who I am, where I came from, and where I am going. My relationship with my Heavenly Father is my anchor. I know He sent His son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, to show us the way. The Holy Ghost bears witness of truth and can serve as our daily guide. I love the scriptures and the doctrine of continuing revelation -- that there were prophets of old and there is a living prophet today to provide counsel and encouragement in these increasingly troubled times. I am especially grateful for temples and the doctrine regarding the family -- that families can be eternal. My family is my greatest joy, and my life has purpose and direction through the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Prayer is a significant part of my faith. I rely on prayer daily to seek God's will and the direction of His spirit to help me in all aspects of my life. I know that through the strength of Christ I can do all things, and that is how I strive to live. I have been blessed to serve my congregation through music. I have spent nearly 10 years as a choir accompanist and have also served as an organist for weekly services, and as an accompanist for the children’s organization. I also have the goal of serving in the temple monthly.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is rewarding. It involves work and sacrifice, but it is worth every effort. I am blessed in more ways than I can describe. I feel blessed every day of the week, not just on Sunday. My faith is the core of what makes me truly happy and is what gives me the strength to manage the day-to-day challenges and trials in life. It provides the perspective that makes all the difference. Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Absolutely! And the great thing is, we can pray to know for ourselves. I have received a witness from the Holy Spirit, and I am so grateful to know that the heavens are open and that we have a living prophet who receives revelation from God to guide and direct his work. The messages from General Conference inspire me. I am particularly grateful for the teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley, Thomas S. Monson and Russell M. Nelson. Their messages of hope, optimism, joy and love — gifts that come through Christ — have influenced my life profoundly. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are incredibly empowered. Men and women have equally important roles in the home and women have many leadership opportunities in the church. I am grateful for a church organization that promotes the unity of men and women working together to teach, to minister, to serve. Mormon women are confident and compassionate, and are encouraged to seek education, to develop and share their talents and gifts. Being a part of the church's women's organization has changed my life. I love the opportunity we have to learn from each other, to develop friendships, and to help each other when needs arise.
