Hi I'm D.D.

I grew up in New Mexico. I've been in agriculture most of my adult life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 5 children and 18 grandchildren. I enjoy being out of doors, either working or playing. I finished college after raising most of my children and continued on with a MS and a EdD degree. I like learning about people and places. My favorite holiday is any one that my family can celebrate together. I love good music and science fiction books.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the first time I ever read the Book of Mormon, the Holy Spirit testified to me that it was true. Much of the doctrine it teaches resonated in my heart with an almost familiar feel to it. I have been blessed to know the Holy Spirit and have learned to follow the promptings. I have received such personal inspiration and answers through my prayers that I know my Father in heaven knows who I am and watches over me. It is easy to stay faithful because I know He loves me and will always help me to become a better person. I want to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ when my time here on earth is done. The hope of eternal life with my family in Heavenly Father's kingdom helps me stay faithful through all the earthly challenges and repent when I need to. I love my Father in Heaven and am so grateful to be a member of His church that was restored in our day with the authority and ordinances to allow all of His children to return to him.

How I live my faith

After 40 years in the church, I have served in most of the available positions. My favorite is working with the wonderful women in the church. Strong, loving, caring, intelligent women who love the Lord and are trying to raise a righteous family in a world that devalues almost everything to do with religion, stable families, and personal integrity. Women who look for and cherish the opportunities to serve each other, their family, their church family and friends in their communities. I am grateful for women who serve as an example to me in faithfulness to the Lord and obedience to the teachings of the gospel that are found within the church.
