Hi I'm Ashlee

I grew up in Pacific Northwest. I am a BYU graduate. I enjoy skydiving, cooking, blogging, and mountain climbing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Washington State and am the oldest of 7 children. While attending BYU, I met my husband. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Exercise Science. I planned on continuing my education and applied to some programs and was accepted. I was really excited to continue my education, but couldn't shake the feeling that I shouldn't continue right now so I declined the offers I received-- looking back I'm glad I made the choice I did. I currently work for a small lumber company, definitely different from what I studied but that is okay. I am very motivated my setting and achieving goals. Each season my husband and I make a list of all the things we want to see and do and each weekend we try to knock something off of our list. We have made a lot of memories and found a lot of joy in doing this. We have climbed Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Timpanogos (we almost died on this hike), and South Sister. We have gone skydiving and ridden in a hot air balloon. We have ridden our bicycles over 100 miles in one day. At times our adventures are intense, but we wouldn't have it any other way. I love all things health and wellness! I love making smoothies and cooking veggie based meals. I can frequently be found at the gym lifting weights, spinning, doing step aerobics or Zumba.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. Growing up my parents would take me and my siblings to church each week. Going to church each Sunday is something I have always looked forward to. Life threw me a curve ball when I was in high school. Despite the numerous trials I faced, I kept going to church. I really began to strengthen my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I began reading the Book of Mormon on my own and prayed vocally in private. I quickly realized that everything in life can change, but the gospel never does, it is constant. I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true and received that special witness from the Holy Ghost for myself. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's church on the Earth today. I know that life can be hard and challenging at times, but with the help of the Savior, we can do anything. He is our friend and our greatest cheerleader in life. He wants us to be happy and to succeed at everything we do. I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. He may not always answer my prayers, the way I want, but he does answer them. If you find yourself struggling in life, I challenge you to pray.

How I live my faith

I try to pattern my life after the Savior's, He is the perfect example. My life is far from perfect and I make plenty of mistakes, but I find the strength I need to keep going and to be better through Christ's atoning sacrifice. Daily prayers, scripture study, and regular visits to the temple are essential parts of my life. In addition to attending Sunday worship services, I work with the youth. I just love the youth of the Church, they are amazing! I love hearing their stories and sharing my life experiences with them!
