Hi I'm Rich

I grew up in Oregon, USA. I'm a Mormon and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (LDS)

About Me

I am married and have two children. Both girls who are married to fine young men who are returned LDS missionaries. My wife and I have 9 grand children. I enjoy reading syfi fantasy books and enjoy anything dealing with nature. I finished college as a grandpa. I have degrees in Meteorology, Architectural Design, Geology, Environmental Geosciences and Geography. I worked as a meteorologist for over 20 years in the USAF and 8 years as a production plant manager. I grew up working around logging, and migrant farming fields harvesting fruit, berries, beans, and also worked in the hay fields. I joined the military when I was 17.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony of the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was raised in a christian faith as a child and was so impressed by a family that lived next to us while serving in the USAF in Idaho. Their beliefs, standards and lifestyles were such that I wanted my family to come to understand their beliefs so that we could have that same love and spirituality that they lived. One day while out driving my wife asked me about joining a church so that our daughters would have a christian background. I stated, that if any one church that filled the promises given in the Bible about Jesus Christ and the restored church on this earth that followed his teachings and gives us peace and happiness it would be the Mormon or LDS Church. This is the same faith that that family who helped us so many times and shared their love continually with us. My family and I started our conversion to be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This family we so cherished had been our life time friends since 1974. My family and I still hold our faith in Jesus Christ and God the Father as most important in our lives.

How I live my faith

Prior to being recently called to serve a 2 year mission with my wife of 45 years; She and I have served working in the LDS Temple; Genealogy and family History Centers. I have been a teacher and tutor for over 11 years working with children and adults. I visit several families who are under my stewardship, and are the elderly and widowed. I have a firm belief that we should always help and assist the elderly and widowed and especially your neighbors. My neighbors are my friends and they know that they can come and call at anytime there is a need. I attend church regularly and still continue to serve helping and serving those who attend the temple.
