Hi I'm Camille Beck

I'm a Mormon or a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I love to sing!

About Me

Well I love to do musicals and have been doing them since I was in 6th grade. My first role was being Marta in the Sound of Music or you might remember her as being the little girl saying " Hi I'm Marta, and I want a pink parasol." (Funny story after I recieved the part I kept saying " hi I'm Marta and I want a pink pair of socks," my mom soon corrected me and had to tell me what a parasol even was( it's an umbrella for the sun). Some other roles I have been have been one of three narrators in Joseph and the technicolor Dream coat, the fariy godmother in Shrek the Musical, and I have even loved just being in the Ensomble for Big or Pippin. and and brighten others days. I also love to make food and make up my own yummy concoctions! You will always see me smiling and trying my best to be as Christ-like as I can be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed with the opportunity to grow up in the LDS church. I didn't really know for myself if this was the only church with the fully restored Gospel of Jesus Christ until I was 12 years old. We have a girl’s camp every summer with girls from 12-18 where we: learn basic survival skills, have fun with other girls our age, and learn more about Christ. On the last night of girl’s camp, we have a testimony meeting where everyone has a chance to tell others what they believe in the name of Jesus Christ. Before we started the meeting, we had a faith walk that truly tried my faith in a way I had never felt. It started out by all of us girls sitting in a quiet room just reading our scriptures and then one by one they pulled us out and had us put on blindfolds so we couldn’t see where we were going. We were told by the one representing the Holy Ghost to just hold on to the rope that led to the end and we will be fine. As I walked along I had “Satan” try to tell me to let go because there was a bush in the way so go around it. I never let go until the very end. Then the “Holy Ghost” had us walk up something and it said to have trust and fall backwards and have faith that everything would be alright. When I finally did people caught me and I was so thankful. I got to the end where they had me sit down with my blindfold on and eventually as more and more girls sat down we sang hymns to feel of Christ’s love for all of us. When everyone was done we could take off our blindfolds and the nice toasty fire was in the middle of us. I think I was one of the last girls to stand and bare my little testimony, but I was so thankful and still am that I was able to have the courage to stand. Because of this experience, I cannot deny the Holy Ghost and what I felt. The gospel of Jesus Christ makes me feel so happy and that's why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

When I went to Snow College I had a calling where I was over a group of people for Family Home Evening. Normally Family Home Evening or FHE is done in your own family, but being away from home as single adults we meet together as a ward and have a short lesson about Christ and then we would do a fun activity. I loved being abled to serve the Lord by having fun with others and it really taught me a lot about myself. I also live my faith by going to church every Sunday, reading and saying prayers daily, and so much more.
