Hi I'm Adam

I'm an analytical thinker who loves a challenge. I enjoy running and being with friends & family. They rock! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been blessed so greatly in my life! I grew up in Southern Missouri, and have always loved knowing a little about everything and a lot about a few things. I love to go camping and hiking, and running in track and cross country in high school was one of my favorite things to do. I often play games on the computer and console to try and beat my friends' scores or set a new record. I played the french horn in band during middle school and even tried basketball! I was blessed at every turn with just the right opportunities through high school. I was in many fun clubs that taught me important skills, plus I had good friends, fun youth activities, a loving family, and a great education. After a mission, I will be a full-time college student. I have been called to serve in the Latvian Mission Region of the Baltic Mission, and that will truly be two years of wonderful service. I love that all I have been blessed with in life has lead to and prepared me for serving a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father, and I want to return to live with Him again one day with all of my family. I have a strong testimony that we all have or will have the opportunity to hear His gospel and accept Him in our lives. He loves us, and wants us to choose to live with Him. Our freedom to choose our own decisions is truly the only thing we have of ourselves, everything else we have had given to us. Our legs to walk with, our talents to use, and everything down to the ground we walk on we have been blessed with, but the one thing our Heavenly Father doesn't have is our will. I have chosen to give Him my will so that I can change to become more like Him and enjoy eternal happiness. Plus, the gospel makes so much sense! I love the wonderful plan that has been laid out from before the world was made that our Heavenly Father has for us. He is perfect, and knows exactly what we need and will give unto us and prepare us as we seek to return to live with Him. His gospel is perfectly laid out and, although we many not understand all of it right now, that's ok. I don't understand exactly how a computer works, but I know that it does, and I know that even if I don't understand all of the gospel, the parts I do know work together flawlessly, and I have faith that as I continue to learn, my life will continue to improve and the Holy Ghost will continue to testify to me of the truth of the true, restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for a duration of two years, and I know that this experience will be so worth it. The scripture, "O ye that embark in the service of your God, see that ye serve Him with all your heart, might, mind, and strength," will be of central importance to me as I go and serve Him. I have a strong testimony all I have done up to this point has prepared me for that, and I know that the people in Latvia similarly have been prepared to hear about the gospel all this time. It is marvelous to see how the Lord works in our lives and loves each and every one of us so much!

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Eternal life is a central part of the Plan of Salvation. We believe that our spirits existed before this life on Earth, and that we will continue to live on after this life ends forever with our perfected bodies. This life is like a testing period to determine what our reward will be after this life ends. God loves us, and puts before us only temptations and trials He knows we can endure and face. Thus, we all have the opportunity to return to live with our Heavenly Father and to live not only immortal lives, which we all will have thanks to the Atonement, but to live on with a fullness of joy in His presence. This is eternal life, with that joy we have as a result of choosing the right and following the Light. I know that we can have eternal life if we are faithful to God's commandments and follow Christ's teachings. I want to walk the path back to Heavenly Father so that I can enjoy happiness forever with Him. A knowledge of that gives me peace and strength when facing trials in this life, and I am distinctly grateful for that knowledge. We are so blessed! Show more Show less
