Hi I'm Alison

I am a college student, an avid learner, a hiker, and a guitar player. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am from Las Vegas I am a college freshman majoring in Middle Eastern Studies/Arabic. I am a choir singer. I am a loving big sister. I am a hiker. I am a future missionary in Mexico.

Why I am a Mormon

I was given the opportunity to attend church with my father as a young child or stay home with my mother. I did both. I started going to church regularly and was baptized when I was eight years old. Faith does not come naturally to me. I have a very scientific like mind and thrive off of my own empirical analysis. As I have always been a seeker to truth I kept my mind open from a young age. I gained my testimony primarily through prayer. Heavenly Father knows me well and knows how to communicate with me personally through my empirically wired brain. As I prayed and pondered and turned to the scriptures I gained my beliefs in my church and I will always cherish them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to become a better person every day and not giving up when I fall short. I pray to my Heavenly Father often and knows that he listens and helps me. I know that His plan for me is always better than my plan for me as He proves it time and time again. I read my scriptures often so I can be uplifted and understand things on a deeper level. I love the Bible and the Book of Mormon and use both in my personal scripture study. I am a Sunday School teacher and I am currently teaching the New Testament to other students my age.
