Hi I'm Kay

I grew up in a small town in central Utah and loved it!

About Me

Husband of almost 50 yrs. Father to seven , grandfather to 14, one great-grandson. Enjoy all outdoor activities and being with family

Why I am a Mormon

. My parents were members and so at the age of 8 I was baptized. Though a testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day -Saints is something that has to be received by your own efforts. Everyone has to ponder, pray and ask Heavenly Father for that confirmation and as promised in Moroni in the Book of Mormon, you too can receive that confirmation.

How I live my faith

I try to attend church every week, even when traveling. I try to hold and fulfill all callings to the best of my ability, including being a 100% Home Teacher. Home teaching gives us the opportunity to help and serve 3 or 4 families in our congregation (Ward) as we visit them, in their home, at least once each month.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Kay
Welfare Services, sometimes referred to also as Latter-day Saint Charities or LDS Charities, provide relief to suffering families and individuals all over the world in times of disasters such as, hurricanes, earthquakes, fire, floods, etc. Also to the family next door when they fall upon hardships because of unseen circumstances, such as loss of employment from sickness or accidents or even downsizing in the workplace. Funds come from the members fasting for two meals once each month, usually the 1st Sunday of the month, then giving the dollar equivalent of the cost of those meals to the bishop of the ward. Those fund are then used to help those in need. The Church teaches the practice of self reliance, save each month. Prepare for lean times by having set aside food, clothing medications and money for those unexpected times. Also we feel it is necessary to work for the help received, to volunteer at canneries, meat packing plants, dairies, etc. to help with the cost of the commodities received. Show more Show less
