Hi I'm Jessica

I am a recent convert. I am a social worker. I am a College Professor. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jessica. I'm 33 years old and joined the Church a year ago. I recently through the Temple for the first time. I love to read, Enjoy nature and travel. I grew up and still live on Long Island, NY. I love doing family history.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a member of another faith prior to converting to the LDS church. I grew up with the Bible, but always felt there was something missing. After reading the Book of Mormon and praying whether it was true or not, I felt an overwhelming feeling of love. I then knew that it was true and converted a year ago. The past year has been filled with trials and tribulations, however knowing the truth of the Gospel has helped me. Six months after converting, my father passed away. It was a dark few months, but with the help of Heavenly Father, The Gospel and leaders from my Church, I was able to find His light again. I know that I have been forever changed. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I am healing and am forever grateful.

How I live my faith

At the current moment, I hold three callings: Family History Consultant, Ward Missionary and Second Counselor for the Young Woman. I love doing family history, with other people. It is rewarding when someone is able to find a family member and build upon their family tree. As a ward missionary, I love going out with the missionaries and teaching others about the Gospel. I treasure all of the time I spent with the missionaries and how much learning about the Gospel forever changed me. It is so amazing when others come to know the Book of Mormon is true, as well as, Joseph Smith was a Prophet. I was just recently called to Young Woman's, but thus far have enjoyed working with the girls. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be along side others has they grow in the Gospel. It helps my testimony grow.
