Hi I'm Russel

I was born and raised in Alaska. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Alaska. I was home-schooled until my senior year in high school. I love to hike, hunt, camp, snowboard, paintball, and pretty much anything outdoorsy. I received my Eagle Scout award when I was 15 and I loved the scouting program. I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Texas Houston East Mission. I will be serving until January of 2018.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents raised me in the church and have taught me the doctrine since I was a little kid. I can see the joy and the protection that the gospel offers me. I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers because of the comfort I receive when praying. I have a testimony that the Book of Moron is another testament of Jesus Christ and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he translated the Book of Mormon through the power and authority of God. I also know that we have a living Prophet today and that he has the power and authority to receive revelation to guide the church in these latter days.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since I was born. I go to church every Sunday and participate in the meetings. I have taught several sundayschool classes and have helped plan many activities for the youth in our congregation. When there is a community service project I always try to help out and plan to continue doing so.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Russel
Really simply put, God is our loving Heavenly Father. He has a body of flesh and bone and he created us in his image. He wants us to be happy so he has provided a plan for us to obtain happiness in this life and in the life to come. Part of his plan was for us to come to earth and get a physical body to learn and gain experience. Show more Show less
