Hi I'm Susan S.

Born on the Atlantic Coast of Cameroon, I came to Utah in 1980 and lived in Provo, where I studied nursing and journalism.

About Me

Attended a private boarding school in Cameroon, owned by a Baptist Missionary called Rev. Quiggle. After that I attended a nursing and midwifery program operated by Canadian Baptist Missionary where I studied midwifery. I practiced midwifery for several years and came to Provo where I joined my then husband and the children, two girls and a boy. I'm not married any more to this guy, and the children are all grown up. I have worked as a nurse for over ten years, but right now, I work for a company called Elwood Staffing. They send me to different companies to work there. These jobs can last from two weeks to six months. My journalism education has not helped me a lot in finding employment, but I have written three stories published on the website of Deseret News in 2013. My hobbies are listening to religious music and watch comedies.

Why I am a Mormon

I came in contact with Mormons when I was in boarding school. We sang a Mormon song and the principal told us it's a song by some people who crossed the plains to Utah. That was my first contact with Mormons. I wanted to be baptized because I was told Samuel's story as a child. How his mother took him to Eli and when he grew up, he spent much time in the temple. I was told Mormons build temples and I wanted to go to a temple and do some work there.

How I live my faith

I've held several callings in my congregations like in the primary(children's classes) and church chorister. I have enjoyed my callings a lot. Music makes me happy and I enjoy serving.
