Hi I'm Caitlin

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am the baby of 5 children. Art is my passion, but not my strength. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, just fresh out of High School. I have a mission call to go and preach the gospel to the people in the Philippines! (I can not perfectly explain my excitment!) I am the baby of 5 children, and I have many nieces and nephews. I have worked and worked to try to help save for the mission and for my life afterwards, whatever it may be. I have grown up playing the piano, but at the end of my teenage years, I became too busy and have maybe lost that talent. But I have learned that I have a talent in art and hope to continue that.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the church all my life. I have had wonderful parents as my examples living righteously and sacraficing their time and means for the church. I have grown up trying to live a righteous life as well. But it is not easy. It's hard standing out with the standards that I had in high school. It's hard to always do the right things. But I have seen Christ's hand in my life. He has given me so many amazing blessings in my life that has helped me be the person I am now. I love this gospel because it helps us realize the purpose of life. I know that this is the true church because of the sweet spirit I have felt, it has testified to me the truthfulness of this gospel. I strive to keep His spirit to be with me, but that is also another challenge. We are not perfect, and not always worthy to have His spirit to be with us. But I am grateful for the Atonement, it is because of Christ's suffering that I can start over and over and over again each and every time I take the sacrament. How wonderful is that? I love this gospel and the blessings it offers me helping me to become like Christ.

How I live my faith

I have had a few callings in the church. Growing up in Young Womens, I have been the Beehive President, Miamaid President, and secretary for the Laurals. I when I was 17, I had the calling to be the ward chorister. But now, ever since I have had my mission call, I am now the ward missionary until I head out my big calling as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have learned that no matter what calling position you are called, no matter where you go on a mission, no matter how old you are or strong your testimony is, Heavenly Father knows you and he knows where you need to be in order to grow and become the person that He knows you can become. He knows the challenges you need to have that will help you grow. It is the test for us whether or not we are going to accept the callings or challenges. That will help our faith and testimonies grow stronger.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Boys are strongly encouraged to go on a mission. But for girls, it is a complete option for them. This is why I like to share why I have decided to serve. This gospel has given me so much happiness. AND PEACE. I have always considered serving throughout my life, but once I have been becoming of age, it really hit me that I need to make a desision NOW. I had many options of what I could do with my life during these next 18 months, but I have prayed and prayed about a misson. It wasn't until I realized that for some reason when I was applying for college, it wasn't working out. My applications weren't working and I couldn't get into any apartments with my roomates. I started to understand that college is not for me right now. I decided to go on a misson NOW. The more I have prepared for my mission, the more I have felt the peace from the spirit testifying to me that I made the right choice. :) I hope and pray that I will be a good missionary for Him!
