Hi I'm Candace

I'm a missionary in Cebu, Philippines! I love cross-country and track. I also love music and I play the piano and oboe.

About Me

I love to run! It is my favorite. Cross-country and Track are so much fun. Even though it is a difficult sport, the challenge is what makes it great. There is nothing like conquering a hard work-out. It gives you a wonderful sense of accomplishment and an oddly enjoyable feeling of exhaustion. I also love the piano and being a member of a symphonic band! I enjoy playing piano music by Rachmaninoff and Chopin. It speaks to my soul and deeply enriches me. It is so fulfilling to hear the rich, sweet music as my hands glide over the piano keys. In band, I love to experience the various combinations of different instruments and the power that they have in producing beautiful music. It is exciting to play the oboe in band because I can add my musical talents to the ensemble. Right now, I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been called to serve in the Philippines Cebu Mission. I love serving the Lord and coming closer to Him as I invite others to also come unto Christ and learn of His spectacular gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true with all my heart! It makes so much sense intellectually and it feels so good and refreshing physically. I know that God and Christ are real beings and love me and every single person so much. I can see His great influence in my life. I am so grateful for living prophets that guide us in the way that God wants us to go. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is the word of God. It brings so much peace and insight into my life and I can feel the spirit when I read it. This Church was restored to the earth by the prophet Joseph Smith and I am so grateful to have Christ's true church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I am the organist in my Young Single Adult ward. I choose the hymns to sing for Sacrament meeting each Sunday. I love to pray before I run and for races or musical performances so that God can strengthen me and help me to do my best. It is so good to feel the spirit as I read the Book of Mormon each day. It fills me with peace and takes bad feelings out of my heart.
