Hi I'm Shaylie

I am from Indiana, but now I'm a student at BYU Idaho. I have chronic migraines, but I do my best to serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 and am currently a college student. In my free time, I love to sing in my stake choir and play the piano. I love to read almost any genre. I love ice cream and cheesecake and Oreos, and I've had a pumpkin pie as my birthday cake twice. I have chronic migraines, but I try my best to serve others and to see the world in a positive way. My biggest dream in life is to be a mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that God is my loving Heavenly Father and that he sent His son, Jesus Christ, to atone and to suffer for all of my sins and my weaknesses and hardships and trials and for the sins and hardships of all of God's children. I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Bible and of the Book of Mormon, which both testify of God and of Christ and their love for us. I would encourage everyone to read the Book of Mormon and to pray sincerely to know if it is true. I have, and I can say that I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I am a Mormon because I have felt God's love for me and His assurance that I am doing what is right for me.

How I live my faith

I love my ward here at BYU-I. I have met a lot of great people through my Family Home Evening group, and I have loved getting to know them as I meet with them each Monday night. I have the blessing of being the Visiting Teaching supervisor for my ward, so I got to help create Visiting Teaching partners and assignments. I'm really excited to see how it all turns out, and I'm excited to see how all of the women become closer to each other. This is not my first calling. I have served as a ward missionary, a Sunday School teacher, youth music coordinator, and either the president, first, or second counselor of the Young Women's classes in my home ward. I do my best to live my faith by reading the scriptures daily and serving others. I live my faith by attending church each week and by being the best person that I can be.
