Hi I'm Brigham

I grew up in Philippines. I am a Software Programmer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am called as a full-time missionary in the Philippines Cavite Mission and will serve on November 20, 2015. I love programming, coding, and debugging. I'm a basketball enthusiast. Whenever I walk or daydream with music on my ears, it feels like everything comes to life, it feels like I'm always in a movie. That being said, I really love watching movies and tv series especially sitcoms. I love my family, and of all the things that I love, The Lord is who I love the most.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints the day I was born. My parents were both members of the Church, and gratefully they raised me in the gospel taught by the Church, by the Lord. Though born in the church, my personal conversion was not fully developed until I realized that I needed to have my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, and the Church I belong to. As I strive to ask the Lord, the answers came 'line upon line, precept upon precept.' I have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost as I rely on Him to lead me to the path He wants me to go. I know that as we Come unto Christ, the light in our lives radiates as it overcomes the darkness that surrounded us. I love the Lord so much, and He certainly loves us more than what we think. I am a Mormon because I personally felt these spiritual experiences in His Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

As a prospective missionary waiting to serve, I work with the full-time missionaries to share the gospel to the people who are waiting to receive answers from their life questions. It is a very fulfilling, inspiring, and heart-warming experience to testify to the people the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ in His church as I see through their eyes how the Spirit touched their hearts.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Brigham
The Atonement of Christ is indeed impossible to put into words the full meaning of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Even the blessings the Atonement cannot be measured by the words offered by the world. Yet, it is enough to say that only the Atonement of Christ can bring peace and happiness from the guilt, shame, and misery from the sins we did. It has the infinite power to save us from 'chains of hell of which we were bound.' It was necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice his Life to 'to take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels will be filled with mercy (Alma 7:12).' For the Lord to understand what trials and tribulations we will face in our lives, it was necessary for Him to 'suffer pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind (Alma 7:11).' Jesus Christ did atone our sins. He did it to 'succor his people according to their infirmities (Alma 7:12).' He loves us so much He was willing to sacrifice His life to obey the will of His Father. "To make His Atonement fully effective in our individual lives, we must have faith in Christ, repent of our sins, be baptized and confirmed by one having authority, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, obey God’s commandments, receive sacred ordinances, and strive to become like Him. As we do these things through His Atonement, we can return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father forever." Show more Show less
