Hi I'm Rita Toone

I live in southern Alberta, Canada. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 5 and the grandmother of 16. My husband and I farm and raise cattle. We love rural life and our small town. I love teaching. I especially love teaching my grandchildren and friends to do artwork.

Why I am a Mormon

I have known from childhood that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. This knowledge has brought me such a peace and a grounding in a troubled world. It gives me hope for the future and for eternity. The blessings of the temple make it possible for me to be with my family, not only for this life, but for all eternity. I know that Christ's church was restored to the earth after apostasy from the one he established in the meridian of time and after many decades of spiritual darkness. Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and called him to be the prophet to restore it. I know that he was given the power of God to translate the Book of Mormon. It is true scripture and another testament of Jesus Christ. I feel its power as I read and ponder its words. I know that we have a living prophet today. It is such a blessing to be taught by God through apostles and prophets. God continues to reveal His will through them. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for His Gospel, His atonement and His resurrection. It is through Him that I will someday be able to return to live with my Heavenly Father. My prayers are always heard and answered by a loving Heavenly Father. I know that I am His daughter. I know that all His children are precious to Him. I know these things are true. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have participated in our small community by sewing costumes for musical theater productions. We appreciate our neighbors and friends. We enjoy community events and help when we can. I am very active in the Church and all its programs. I love teaching in the Church. I especially love children and have taught children ages 18 months to 12 years old as well as youth and adults. It is one of my greatest joys. My husband and I are able to serve 6 month missions during the winter. We have dearly loved that opportunity. We love serving in the temple every week. Family is very, very dear to me -past, present and future. I love to find out all I can about our ancestors, and I feel such a strong connection to them. I feel close to our extended families, and look forward to my posterity.
