Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in several states throughout my life. I am an actor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently living in the United States and am about to serve a full-time mission. Before any of this I was a student in high school just trying to make it through this part of life. I spent a good portion of my high school career on the stage. I have performed in 15 stage productions during those four years. These shows included plays, musicals, and operas. I was also vice president of the school's theatre club. When I wasn't on the stage I was going to my classes like any other student would. I attended a couple of honors and AP classes, my favorite being Calculus. After i return from my mission I plan to go to BYU Provo to continue my career in theatre. If everything goes according to plan I will venture out into the film industry and become an actor. If not, I will divert my energies into a career of engineering. But until that day happens I am going to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but this is not the reason I am still a Mormon. During my early teen years I contemplated whether or not I would continue in the church, or merely fade away. When I was 16, a realization hit me. I could know whether or not I wanted to stay in this church by knowledge if it was true or not. I spent the next several weeks diving int my own personal studies to know whether or not this was the true church. Now I am not saying know all the answers, but from those studies and prayers I came to the conclusion this was the true church, and in time more answers would be revealed unto me. Now two years later I am about to leave for my mission. I could very well be on my mission by the time anyone views this. I had the understanding to know, that no matter how much information someone gave to me, I would never truly believe until I came to these understandings myself. Once I sought the answers in my own way, and was willing to hear the truth that came to my heart, I was truly converted. I know that growing up in the church does not immediately mean someone has all the answers. It is a slow process that requires time and patience. I had to find out for myself. That is the only way to be truly converted.

How I live my faith

I am going to serve a two year mission in the New York, New York south mission. I will be fully engaged in my studies and teachings of the gospel. Prior to this time, I was the secretary of the young men, ages 16-18. I home taught several families during this time, and taught several lessons for my fellow youth. I participated in seminary classes for 4 years, and graduated recently. I regularly attend a missionary preparation class early morning on Sunday so that I may be more ready to serve.
